Impressive Medal Haul for Zimbabwe’s Young Swimmers

The junior national Swimming team took a total 42 medals (6 Gold, 10 Silver, 26 Bronze) at the CANA 2013 championships which ended on May 28 in Lusaka,Zambia.

The competition which begun on May 25 was hosted at the Lusaka Youth Olympic Development center, was attended by 10 national teams namely: Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, Angola, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Botswana and the hosts.

Zimbabwe’s McAllister Courtney was ranked 10 out of 113 swimmers in the girls section with a total of 120 points while Cyprianos Andresious was placed seven out of 121 male swimmers with a 132 points total.

The  Natalie de Chassart and Andrew-John Stambolie captained side finished second ahead of neighboring South Africa which was placed third. The Kenyans were crowned the CANA 2013 champions.
