The 15th edition of the CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships kicked off Thursday morning (16 February 2017) at the City Pool in Bulawayo.
The Championships broke records by simply getting underway in the City of Kings. Athlete participation is at an all-time high with 360 swimmers from fourteen national teams competing in Bulawayo. It is also the first year that the Championships are combining swimming and water polo in one event.
In the pool, swimmers set 18 new championship records on Day One of the CANA Zone IV Championships. South Africa lead the charge claiming seven of those records. Zimbabwe had her name against two, with Australian-based Robyn Lee and Liam O’Hara of Falcon College clocking record times in their events.
