Peterhouse Girls and Boys Victorious at Lomagundi

Peterhouse Girls and Boys Schools won the Lomagundi Interschools Cross Country on Friday (11 February 2017) at a well-organized meet, despite driving rain during the middle races.   The rain and muddy conditions may have contributed to the fact that there were no records broken, despite an impressive field of runners from twelve schools.

Peterhouse Boys enjoyed a wide margin victory with 224 points with hosts Lomagundi in second with 358 and Gateway third with 469.  The toll that this rainy season has taken on the roads spelled travel delays for five schools – Eaglesvale, Prince Edward, St George’s College Watershed, and Wise Owl – who missed the junior races.  They were thus disqualified from the overall school rankings, minimizing the competition to only five teams instead of the intended ten.

On the girls’ side Peterhouse finished first overall with 219 points after their runners’ aggregates were second in the U15, first in the U17 and third in the Open race.  Hellenic were second with 286 points, and Arundel and hosts Lomagundi tied for third with 363 points a piece.
