Two half centuries by Zimbabwe’s U19 captain Liam Roche and Marshal Takodza ensured hosts Zimbabwe U19 cruise to a 124 run over a visiting Kenyan U19 side yesterday.
The visitors won the toss and selected to field, which saw the pair of Roche and Takodza contributing a total of 104 of the total 267-7 in 50 overs.
Dane Schadendorf took 3 wickets for 22 runs, and was the best bowler for the hosts restricting the visitors to 143 all out.
Despite a spirited performance by Sukhdeep Signh’s who came close to half a century for the visitors after posting a total of 43 runs, the young Chevrons’ bowling attack proved a menace to the Kenyans.
Zimbabwe lead the series 1-0 with three more matches to be played at Kwekwe Sports Club.
