While most of their seniors were getting ready for mid-term exams, the U14 basketball teams were battling for first place at Chisipite on Saturday the 11th of July.
The St John’s High team did not disappoint as they won first place beating the hosts 7-5 in the finals. Chisipite’s Kianna Melvin scored her second perfect three-pointer during this game which was a jaw-dropper to her opponents and the crowd.
After having been on five all for a while, St John’s broke the deadlock in the dying minutes of the game making the final score 7-5.
Although the scores of the tournament do not clearly show the skill and hard work these teams have, I will tell you that their teamwork and plays were impressive and most of them have understood the fundamentals of the sport already after playing it for less than three months this season.
